  Core Competency  

 

In order for any advocate, staff member or volunteer to be registered for domestic violence victim/advocate privilege pursuant to Florida Statutes 90.5036 and 39.905, they must complete 30 hours of training. Women In Distress of Broward County, Inc. offers a 24-Hour Core Competency Training, providing 24 of the 30 training hours required. All domestic violence advocates, staff, volunteers and interns at Women In Distress will also need to participate in the six hours of observational learning.
