The Starfish Luncheon is in its fourth year and with over 400 corporate leaders and business professionals attending, this is an essential public forum to honor and show appreciation for venerable people who are dedicated to changing the lives of domestic violence victims in Broward County. The “Starfish” theme is inspired from the popular starfish story by Loren Eiseley which exemplifies how each and every one of us can make a difference - one person at a time.

The 4th Annual Starfish Luncheon, held on May 19, 2010 at the Signature Grand, was a wonderful celebration of those in our community who go above and beyond to support Women In Distress. Thank you to the over 450 guests who attended to congratulate this year’s honorees: Lorraine Thomas, Bank of America, Bishop Henry Fernandez, Senior Pastor Carol Fernandez, and the Faith Center, and a very special individual who was the recipient of the first ever Starfish Award presented to a survivor of domestic violence.
